Good move on moving the rocks forward, the fish will appreciate more swimming space! And most of all, woot for the PE!

Is the picture too blue or white than in person?

You must get a lot of headaches...::)

The tank looks too white in the pic. It is bluer in person.

Do you know how to tweak the white balance on your Rebel? And the exposure compensation? I always compensate to -0.7 or -1.0 because the photos shoot too bright with my Nikon.

Here is the direction of the exposure setting from Canon Rebel user guide site:
"On the Canon Rebel XT it is done by going into the menu, selecting the appropriate page, scrolling down to the appropriate entry, hitting "set", selecting the amount of compensation using the scrolling buttons and hitting the "set " button again."

White balance and exposure. Huge difference.

I hope this makes sense :)

    .

Hey, Thanks for the info. Yeah, makes sense, now I know the exposure was too long as well. I really need to sit down and play with the camera for a few hours to see what works best.

Just make yourself familiar with the "A" setting (aperture priority mode?). Shoot tons of photos of one object (or your kids :) ). Compare each ones and choose which look the best. Memorize the setting for that situation. Repeat the same with different situation (aquarium, outdoor, indoor, at beaches, etc.)

Today the coral beauty passed away. I've never had a fish jump, but she was missing from the fuge when I checked after work, and found her behind...

I know this hobby has many ups and down, and lately it's felt like many more downs than ups, but this one is especially hard. I was about to reintroduce her to the DT. She was our favorite fish (especially my wife's) and we are both taking it pretty hard. Don't know what else to say, just really sucks right now...
