Well I got home from class yesterday to see Karl the lionfish drifting along the bottom being picked at by every member of the CUC..He was somehow spooked last week and learned very quickly how to carpet surf..luckily I was able to get him back in the tank within 20 or so seconds..However..after I put him back in he just sat on the bottom behind the rocks..i tried to get him to eat multiple times..krill..silversides..tried soaking them in garlic..tried tying them to fishing line (loosely) to not spook him..he also had a fairly large cut on his side..not too sure where that came from..but anyway..when your dog dies..best thing to do is go get a new puppy..I think i'm going to go with the typical reef set up now with a few different fish..i went to the LFS yesterday afternoon and picked up a Melanurus Wrasse..BEAUTIFUL! the owner said this species is known for eating shrimp..but he got this one when it was a juvenile and had it with a coral banded shrimp..lucky for me he doesn't bother them! I love it when the lights go out and she dives into the sand and disappears for the night!

    Just thought i'd share,
    Ivan

Sorry for your loss. We had a lion fish, Mufasa, and he gorged himself on coral banded shrimp when we were out of town, he just quietly passed during the night a few weeks later. Sounds like you got a cool new addition though. Have any pics?

I would like to have one of those in one of my tanks. Stays fairly small and not too pricey.

I had a mufasa too. Best name ever for a lion fish. Mine was killed by a scribbled rabbit fish. Supposed to be very peacefull.
