Wouldint you agree though Iraf that sharks ( any of the species ) need to be left in the wild though ?

Just thinking that shark was 20+ inches long in a 250 gal. set up' the poor thing took up the whole tank just about and NO swimming room for it.
Probly died from poor oxygen levels, it well known sharks move constantly to move water past their gill's to take in proper oxygen levels.

And just the other night watching a show about reef "white tips" they sleep on the sand bed but their breathing ( while laying still ) seems to be quite laborsome.
Of course never kept one because they grow so large ya know , kinda would keep it to a "one fish" tank wouldint it ? being the preditors that they are.

yeah i agree but with his business type and name he insists that it's a necessity, before this shark (lived for nearly 4yrs and grew from about 6" to 20") we had always had people that would take them off our hands, local zoo or aquarium, we had a pair of mako babies that we raised till about 18" each (started with a trio but one broke it's back feeding). Just noone wanted a 20" banded cat shark

I'm trying to talk him into forkin out the cash for a marbled cat shark since their maximum adult size is only 24" means it should be able to sustain in that tank for several years and before hand hopefully we'll quit running in to road blocks and setup the tank we want to do which is a 10'x4'x2' reef ready setup and use that as the shark tank and make the current shark tank a different predatory setup, like triggers/lions or something

I've been telling him we need to move to a more colorful setup than what he has to catch more eyes and attention.

Overall on the water quality question though the tank does really well, we have a 42g sump and 42g fuge below to sustain extra LR and LS, basically the fuge is a macro tank with LR and LS so we can keep as much of a sand bed in the main tank as possible, it's also got a canister with phosban and some bio-balls in it, it's usually fairly high on nitrates but nitrite and ammonia is almost always untraceable, biggest issue we have is his employees are morons and overfeed the living bejesus out of the tanks
