It's the incidentals that get you.;)

You know I still want that 150g. I was over at a growers house the other day buying some coral and he has a 215 that is 5x3x2. It's impressive. I was wondering how I could swing a 5x3.....;D

Aw, hell, Kevin. That's sad to hear. Have you considered just taking down the tank and selling off the livestock; but keeping all the hardware? You're going to get pennies on the dollar anyways. Since you say you're not on the bread line--if you're planning on getting back into the hobby eventually, you might consider not selling the skimmer, APEX, etc.

Well with the 3 year plan plenty will be going on so what 4 years after getting a house.... plenty of new stuff will be out by then. Sure it will cost me but I can recoup a fair amount.... most of my stuff is pretty new. It will help lower some debt that it undoubtedly contributed too.

    Kevin,

You're approaching this rationally. As an accountant, I really appreciate and commend you on this. As someone who used to be in the LFS biz, I appreciated it a lot when people quit the hobby. After 4 or 5 months, they would stop into the shop to just say, "Howdy". Then, again a couple weeks later they would pop in again. Then the next weekend, then twice in one week, then they were ready to set up a tank again. In other words, I sold them a bunch of equipment and then later they sold it all for pennies on the dollar. Then they bought it all back brand new again. That's good for a LFS's bottom line.

If you can promise yourself that you won't visit LFS's and end up setting another tank in the next couple of years, your plan is quite rational. If you can't promise yourself that, then I mirror Reefsparky's opinion.....keep the equipment.

I mirror everyone elses opinion on this item....there's no need to be a stranger. Drop us a line now and again.
