Glad you've got priorities straight. Should enable you to come back stronger later.

I'd sell some stuff and keep others. Test kits sell well on eBay - even if used. I'd keep the skimmer and light fixtures but try to sell the bulbs if they're newish. I'd sell the tank - they're relatively cheap used and take up a ton of space. I'd keep any dosing pumps but sell the media. I'd nuke the rock and store it but sell the livestock (or LR with coral on it). See where I'm going? Somethings just cost too much to replace while others not so much.

Good luck with it. Stick around. Wishing you the best.

Thanks a lot guys. I know enough now to buy used. Most of my original stuff I sold to upgrade and then got deals. Heck, actually I bought the original setup for pennies on the dollar and have made money from what I have sold now. In the future I will just keep an eye out and start putting things together.

The other thing is.... and I know I'm not alone here... I'm pretty OCD and a reef tank is the MOTHER LOAD of OCD hobbies. I mean WOW.... there is no end to learning and buying and swapping and trading.... wasn't quite prepared for that. Time to get my life back in order and get back to the things that are important. And yes I would like to return to it when the time is right.

Well, at least you went over everything and took the time to consider the details.

You'll have a tank again in the near future I suspect:)

Well all my live stock is sold. My tank is still running until a buyer can take my sump/fuge. Only about 25 lbs of LR left. It's actually been a real bummer. Still confident in my decision, but a bummer none the less.

I feel your pain, I just sold all the livestock and coral out of my 135, now this weekend it looks like the tank and sump will be gone. I will keep my rock for the future.
