I'm hoping I am asking this in the right forum. I bought what I was told was a valentini puffer for my FOWLR tank. After reading The Conscientious Marine Aquarist I found out by the description that he is in fact a filefish. ( BTW that book is great for us beginners ) The tank currently houses a volitan lion, SF eel and a picasso trigger ( which may go back to my LFS if he gets to hateful ). As you can see it is going to be a semi-aggressive tank. My only other saltwater tank is a 55g reef. Here is my question...can this guy hang with the big boys? All of them are babies..biggest is the lion which is 3 1/2 ".

On a side note..I have a watchman goby in there. He is about 3" long and the best substrate cleaner. Although I think I spend more time with the turkey baster cleaning sand of LR than I do anything else :) . Can he stay with those guys also? He was in the tank before any of them and so far they pay him no attention. Is this just due to the fact that they are small or will they eventually see him as a late night snack?

File fish usually do better with less aggressive fish. But it may do ok in your tank. The only fish in your tank that I would be concerned about is the trigger which may or may not become aggressive.
