My mom's Kidney Specialist says don't drink it. It's too lack of stuff your kidneys need.....Something also about it depleting certain things you need too. I know it's not facts on paper but it's what she told my mom.

there is no problem with drinking ro/di water, but you go to know ro/di has every thing removed from it. example: Iron, fluoride, to name a few and other minerals needed for the human body

I think the old adage that everything's okay in moderation applies here. I was just thinking about this as I hooked up my ice maker, which advises filteration pre-hookup.

So if I can use ice that is <10 TDS, why can't I drink the same water. Well just for the same reasons as mentioned above. It's okay to drink, but don't make it a habit.

If you're water is stank, I'd use a brita pitcher or something. We have one and it cuts about 100 TDS off our tap water which is roughly 260, but I still drink from the tap anyway.

So to answer your question, safe to drink? Yes, it's not like visiting Mexico for the first time. Safe to drink all the time? Equate it to breathing pure oxygen (or a really high mix of).

Like nybatu said just disconnect the final stage with a DI bypass and it's safe to drink.

My RO/DI unit came with a tap fitting to add to your sink and a filter to help with the taste. RO/DI is fine to drink

    I use it for kool-aid 8)

na seriously it's way overfiltered, it'd rehydrate you but not replenish lost nutrients as stated above
