Got a new tang last night. Went to one of LFS and they had this little guy for $30 and I couldnt pass him up. Obviously he will need to be relocated in a few years but he has seemed super healthy, acclimated well and is much more active than my sailfin ever was. Did a 10% WC during acclimation (used the water to acclimate...) So we will see.

They seem to change color as well. I actually got a little worried he darted out from behind a rock and he was a dark dark brownish gray and slowly settled back to his normal color. Then promptly started swimming circles around the tank ;) I hadnt ever seen one this small and the price was too good to pass up. I had paid $55 for the sailfin...

you should definitely feed the tang seaweed (nori). i am still concerned about the oxygen level. flow only adds oxygen if there is surface aggitation. You said that you switched your sump over to a fuge. what did you have in your sump? do you have a skimmer? a skimmer adds a lot of oxygen.

I only added the sump as a fuge and it has a built in skimmer which gives an excellent skim mat. Just chaeto in there. Currently there are 3powerheads which create quite a bit of flow.I did buy some dried seaweed from LFS earlier today and clipped that on. He seemed interested for a few minutes hasn't picked at it much. Later in the evening threw some rods food in there and it was like feeding time at the shark tank with all of them. First time using that and I haven't seem them attack any of my other food like that...

Well I don't know but I'm up for suggestions... Came downstairs after four hours of sleep to find the new tang which had been swimming circles around the tank and ling loopty loops before I crashed at around 3am to be stone dead on the sand. He did happen to be just under my condy which also happened to be nearby for the other tangs demise as well. Say I am game for checking o2. Whats best way of checking? I was under the impression that if you had low o2 your ph would be low as well... Past that I'm going to relocate the condy.

How big of a tank? Also, usually not advised to add a fish so close to losing one. Probably an ammonia spike... I would wait a couple weeks before adding anything else.
