    i would do halides on a 40, only if they were like the viper 70watts, or at the most 2 150s... i dont think one halide would cover enough spread..

    i had a 6x39w ati powermodule...

    if i had the 40 again, i would run 4 par 30 or 38...

    The setup I was looking at was one 250 watt I'm pretty sure.. I think it would cover, along with the 4 T5s.. You have 2 250's on this tank right? The breeder's 36 inches, so if yours 72'' I would assume one should cover 36 ya know.. I dono though, I wouldn't wanna burn up my corals. 4 par 30's would cost me a small fortune lol but we shall seeee. Thanks for the input.

    one would work, it just depends how high you keep it from the surface...mine are about 12" from the water..

    also my aquascape if built because of my lighting, the only way im getting away with 2 halides on a 72" tank is because both my islands are directly underneath each halide...

    i had a 250 halide over a 30 gallon, 30" wide, and it was terrible, the sunpod was like 8" over the tank and the halide only covered the very middle of my tank.. shade spots all around the edges and tops..

    whats up everyone...yeah i started a job so i havent really been on,,,, but the good thing about that is now im gonna lots of money to buy more stuff for the tank..
