today i just put in an 18k daylight and took out the fiji purple..the 18k still has the pinkish purple hue but it brightens up my tank and just in one day i saw a difference in my lps puffing up a ton..i have a 2x39..i liked the fiji purple but since im running the 20k xm my ballast burns it more at a purple/white tint than blue, so i took out the fiji purple, kept the blue plus for dusk and dawn settings and have the 18k daylight coming on with the halides to have an almost mid day noon bright part of the day..and then the 18k turns off 2.5 hours before the halide cuts off with the blue+ and then after the halide cuts off the blue+ stays on for another hour or so..and then moonlights are on after that, so my tank is never really dark..

so it goes 10am blue+ turns on(the purple used to do this) then at 2:30pm the halide turns on with the 18k daylight, at 9pm the daylight 18k turns off, leaving the halide and blue+ on, at 11pm the halide turns off, and midnight or so the blue+ cuts off turning the moonlights on and their brightness adjusts to the real moon.

great looking set up saints fan420

I agree the new lighting does make it look both brighter and gives a nicer overall color to the tank

new pics coming of the tank with the new LTA in place and had to readjust the right side just a little to make up for her..the toadstool is giving me problems to place it since it is sooo large when it open fully or whatever toadstools do..

and yesterday i look in my tank and see about a 2" sand siffting starfish that i guess hitch hiked from somewhere,,

and heres my new friend on the side wall, the starfish that hitch hiked from somewhere and i guess has been in my sand bed doing work, anyone know how big these get, and also it looks to be a sand sifting starfish from my research but could never find a max size in captivity..
and also my clowns are starting to get more black all over them, on my male you can see his fins and getting black and the black spots coming in, my females face is starting to turn all black, and spots coming in on her as well..

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Looks really great. I think the scape and the mixed substrate really add to it.

    Very nice. :)
