If I acclimated these 2 fish in at the same time in my 120 gallon tank do you think they will be fine, Salfin being slightly larger. I know they might start out picking on each other but do you think that is a disaster waiting to happen????

    all opinions appreciated

My sailfin and purple got along for a week or so, I had to separate them though... they were tearing apart the tank in fights constantly. You might want to keep the tangs n that tank to a one on one type so only 1, Zebrasoma, Naso, Acanthurus, Ctenochaetus...

It can be done, but less stressfull on the fish doing that route.

    +1

I would expect those two fish to clash since they are both Zebrasoma.

Yeh, with just two in there, one will always get picked on, especially with those two due to their body shapes.

Purples are great fish, My suggestion would be to make sure its one of the last fish adds to the aquarium... they have a might temperment.

Redgambit thanks again, yeah I believe I will try to hold off another week before getting the purple tang so I can put some clown gobies and an african warrse in my tank before the purple tang. I want the purple tang like now but would like a few more additions before the purple tang. just dont know what to do........lol............

I added both of those fish to my tank at the same exact time. Occasionally there's a scuffle but it's generally not an issue. The purple is definitely the dominate one. They're identical in size. Of note is that I have a 195 with ~200lbs of live rock so plenty of places to escape from your oppressor.
