I'm not sure about that brand, I use ...
API Aquarium Pharmaceuticals ..... It was the only one I could find..

I don't know if the kit is old or what.. But I can't get my Cal. above 360..?
On a 60 Gal tank.. I have used 1/2 a 16 oz bottle of Kents Liquid Reactor..
I'm going to get another test kit, to find out what my problem is..
My Kents also has, magnesium, strontium, and trace minerals..
So I shouldn't have a problem, unless the kit is old..??

    Good Luck, Larry

All I have used are API and Salifert. Never had a problem (with the Salifert). What kind of out of whack are you getting?

The readings keep getting lower and lower this last one is showing 120.I knew that was way off so i went to my lfs and all they had unfortunatlely was a red sea kit in stock and it is reading 500 which is high but alot better than 120.I was looking a some reviews on the MD website about the salifert and other people have been having issues lately as well.So i was wondering if anyone could recommend another brand?

Well, if you don't want to use Salifert, I would use Elos. I have heard good things about them.

I have recently started using the Tropic marin calcium / magnesium combined test kit

had 1 false start due to chubby clumbsy fingers - but second and subsequent tests where fine

Calcium can be very hard to keep at a acceptable range if magnesium is low. Test for mag and your should be around 1300-1400 ppm. Natural seawater is 1285...I keep mine around 1350 to be safe.
