Ok i have a mag. test kit from salifert and have been using it. Well i misplaced my instructions and have tried to look them up on the net and they say with the 5ml syringe at 3 ml well mine came with a 2ml syringe. So i guess im looking for someone with this test kit to fill me in on how many ml of tank water to add. Then after that its 6 drops of bottle one correct ?? Thanks for ur help.

I have a salifert mg test kit. It came with a 2ml. syringe, so you add 2ml of tank water, 4 drops of the #1 liquid, a scoop of #2 and then 1ml of solution 3. If you need the ppm numbers for how much of the 3rd liquid you have left, I can get them for you too.

Yours came with a 2ml syringe? If so, I can help you get through the test.

it does for the table but this says 5ml syringe and mines a 2 ml and it says 6 drops and iv been told 4 drops.

    1. Add with the 5 ml syringe 3 ml of water in the test vial.
    2. Add 6 drops of Mg-1 and swirl gently for 30 seconds.
So whats right lol i remember 6 drops i thought but wasnt positive.

There's a newer version of this kit that calls for different measurements. My kit came with a 2ml syringe for adding 2ml of test water. This in turn affects the amount of the reagent use.
Quoted from my salifert mg test.

I can't help at all here. But I use a Red Sea Mg test and these steps sound a whole heck of a lot easier than the Red Sea test... I can't wait to use this up so I can try this salifert one! GL.

The salifert is a dream compared to the red sea kit.
