I used to use c-balance on a regular basis and my Calcium had gotten too high so I stopped dosing for a bit, before that my mid day readings were

    calcium over 500,
    magnesium over 1500
    ph 8.2
    alk 3.5/9.8 dkh.

So today after a week or so and while still using seachem calcium which is a calc gluconate and not ionic based my current readings after lights out are

    calcium at 500
    alk 4/11.2 dkh
    ph 7.8

and my salifert magnesium kit is just not reading, my mag could not have gone up, especially not so much that i wouldnt read and it wouldnt have gone to where it not readable so is there some reason why it wont read and the test is skewed even though I tested twice?

Do you still have the calibration test solution?

Theres no calibration test solution for the Mg kit from salifert, or for any kit ive seen so far. The only calibration fluid I have is for the refractometer.

I would suspect the test kit has gone bad. You could take some water to your LFS
