Quick question. I am still new to this so please bear with me. My tank has been up and running for about 4 weeks now. Nitrate is still running a little high (10 -12 ppm). My question is really about salinity. I have a refractometer and salinity is 1.021. I have salt mixture made in a tank in the basement at 1.025. If i use this to top off it should raise my current salinity in DT, correct. and is this the proper way to adjust my salinity.

    Thanks

That'd be a fine way to raise your salinity. Just keep a watch on it so you don't overshoot, and just use RO/DI to top off once you get to your desired point.

thats the way I would do it if my salinity where low
just top up using that salt water instead of plain RODI until you get where you need to be

Great...I do use RO/DI water. I just need to purchase a TDS meter :)
