I'm really starting to despise my sally light foot. She's a beautiful crab and shes fairly big , I would say about 4 inches across. But she beginning to be a menace. She chases after all my shrimp. And when my hippo tang was sick and just kinda chilling out in his hiding spot, if Sally found him she would pretty much pounce on him. Any fish that swims by her she jumps at. Does anyone else have this problem?

Yes, we have seen the same behavior with two different sally light foot crabs. The first one started out as a baby (about 1 inch long). Once it was over 3 inches, it became aggressive to its tank mates. We caught it and traded it for another small one at the LFS. When the second got to about 3 inches we saw the same behavior again. This time, however, there must have been a fight, as we woke up to find pieces of sally scattered around the tank.... We have chosen not to replace the crab...

Mine seems to live peacefully and I often see her taking turns picking at krill with my Ornate Goby (Mr. Tang snipes at it too). Of course her body is only about an inch and her wingspan is about 3". Seems to me her claws are too stubby for combat. Maybe that's why she is docile. lol

Often times, it depends on the individual! The availability of food source may play a part in their aggressive tendancies as well!

Sally lightfoots are known to become very aggressive once they reach a certain size. One of the reasons why I would never add one to my tank.

I wouldn't get one. Apparently they are next to impssible to remove from your tank. Good luck!

I have seen a Sally lightfoot to snag and eat more then one small fish.. I had onto grab and eat a Carnary Blenny and Neon Goby and several other little fish.. Best kill it .
