New (used) 90 gal tank up and running. I'm noticing saltcreep coming up out of the bracing on the bottom of the DT in several areas. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Can it be done externally, or will I have to drain the ENTIRE tank? Thanks for your help in advance.

It's slowly leaking at that seam. Really not fixable as is, sorry.

Really? Even if I drain the tank and apply silicone over the inside seal?

I can live with it like it is, just have to wipe down every so often. Any chance it could get worse or fail?

As time goes by it will get worse...and honestly worst case scenario you come home to a living room(?) full of water...never good! IMHO i would drain it seal it back up(let it dry/cure) and test for leaks again... Good luck either way

I meant "as is" as seen in your picture. Sure, if you drain and properly reseal it from the inside it may stop, but that's a considerable effort.

This is fixable, but you'll have to take the tank completely down and all that. It'll take a few days.

If you leave it as is, it will fail. No question about it.

Another possibility is that perhaps during the move and setup, some saltwater got in the seam between the bracing and glass, and salt is showing up as it evaporates? Is this possible?

It's happening right where I transferred most of the LR into the tank, and where we've had to wipe the SW from the glass quite a few times due to spillage. The move only happened 3 days ago.

yea the only way to really fix it would be to drain it, remove the sand, rinse it out, and make sure that completely cover the old silicone seal (i recommend making sure that theres at least quarter inch of new silicone on either side (left and right not inside and out) of the old so that way it covers it completely and prevents further leaks

How much water was spilled on the glass during moving and refilling? This is a plausible explanation. If you do repair it you will want to remove all of the silicone inside the tank then apply a new layer.

clean it off and see if it comes back. You might have had water dripping down your arms while setting up the tank.
