I use reef crystals. I am not a highly experienced coral keeper but reef crystals do keep my calcium levels at a good level.

I have always used Instant Ocean. You will get those who swear by a certain brand. Some salt mixes just have more Mag, Cal etc. but basicly salt is salt.

for a softy tank salt doesnt matter really..all salts mix to different numbers..cal, mag, alk, and ph mix up to different numbers..if you have a mixed reef with alot of corals that consume tons amounts of calcium, you want a salt like coral life that has a calcium of around 530..and other things factor into it but this is just a basic..oceanic, instant ocean are fine, if you have a petsmart coralife, IO, Reefcrystals, oceanic..all these are fine and are carried in petsmart...kent and the petco brand is ok too..
