Salt is at 1.030 after topping off water

    did you top it off with saltwater? when topping off your water, always use freshwater. remember the water evaporates, but the salt doesnt. does that make sense?

    my salt level was low so i added too much salt to the mixture....normally when i top off i use freshwater...

    When you are raising the salt level, you need to test constantly as your bringing it up. Also, to keep it from going up by topping off, you should mix some catalina and freshwater to balance it as you top off.

    i would perform a small water change to lower your salinity. It is too high! You should be around 1.025. Just remember to do things slow/ don't chang the salinity too fast or you will stress the inhabitants of your tank!!!!
