This is my first time mixing salt as I'm new to the sw hobby, well me being bad at math and forgetting what the Dir. Said I added 10cups of instant salt mix to 10 gallons, this was an hour ago well I still got the salt mixing before I add it but I'm looking for a solution without having to toss out this salt mix

Should I just delute it by taking the mixed sw out and adding fresh or should I just leave what I got and add 10 more gallons of freshwater

Add more water if you have the container to hold it. What type of salt mix did you use if you don't mind me asking?

Do you see white precipitate on the sides and bottom of the mixing can/barrel? That much salt will likely cause the calcium/carbonate to precipitate leaving your water low in calcium/carbonate.

I would add 10 more gallons of RO/DI water to the mix, it's half a cup of salt per gallon so 10 cups = 20g at roughly 1.025 salinity

I ended up deleting by taking out 6 gallons and replacing with freshwater I checked with my hydrometer it was in the 1.025 range, once I completed the water change and checked it after about 30 minutes it gave a reading of 1.023 which is a bit low but still good.
I been using instant ocean salt mix.

Thank you everyone for your help.

I also before transferring the water added 1 cap of water conditioner and a calcium and electrolyte additive to help for what I was removing.

Yea if you want to live in the black sea. Depends on which part of the ocean you live in. Areas like the red sea where there is no tidal flow and alot of evaporation, their SG is around 1.028 where as The western Atlantic and Caribbean the salinity is around 1.025-1.026. Salinity that high is not good for inverts or fish. Thats why there is no fish in the black sea.
