Thanks guys and gals I am a newbie!! Guess I'll give Coralife a try.

Faster isn't always better but cheap and convenient do fit the bill at this point.

Faster is better when one doesn't seem to mix at all sometimes :) FWIT, I never use newly mixed water until it's mixed for at least 24 hours with circulation.

I used Oceanic Salt mix it has very fine granules almost like powder and it mixes fast and the price is not that bad I think it was $34.00 for 90 gallon mix @ PetSmart

I used coralife, but switched over to Oceanic Sea Salt. Oceanic mixes very well. It's almost like a fine powder. No residue left over after mixing. At Petsmart it sold for $60 for 200gallon bucket.

I have used Crystal Sea for quite some time...found it mixes better than IO. I have to travel a little to get it, but really don't want to switch. My addage is..if something works, don't try to fix it...

I agree Seawillow. I want to stay with the same product all the way through. I will check into Oceanic. I do have a Petsmart closer than where I would get the Coralife. It sounds like the Oceanic might mix a little better.
Thanks to all of you. This will be my first venture into a reef aquarium and I am doing as much research as I can while gathering the various components. [smiley=balloon.gif]

Anyone ever tried Red Sea Pro Coral Salt? It says that its For RO/DI water is this just a gimmick aren't all salts made for RO/DI water and tap water?
