    I could not imagine not doing water changes. The thing we constantly fight is nitrates and phosphates. As others have mentioned we do water changes specifically because we are trying to keep nitrate and other nutrients low.

    Really? I never would have thought that. Good to know, and as you mention, makes even stronger a case to do water changes.

    I am not sure what size tank you have but I do a 5 gal WC on my 46gal every week which is 20gal a month. A box if corallife salt from DrFosters is 50bucks and does 200gallons, 10months worth for 50 bucks is not bad and if I couldnt afford that I would have to question why I set up a tank with fish and corals that can run in the hundreds of dollars a piece lol
