Well it took three days of work, sanitizing and rebuilding the saltwater into a freshwater to combine my other three tanks into. I replaced the 3 400w 15k metal halides, with 2- 250w 10k and 1 250w 12k in the middle. I supplemented with 2 t-5 True Blue t-5 HO. Removed the skimmer, but more or less, still running all the other equipment. I am happy with the color, and the tank looks really nice. Fish seem to be doing OK so far. Here are some pics. As I said in the other thread, nothing too fancy, just a starting point.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Well it looks very cool, and no majano or aiptasia right?

What is the big black guy that looks like a sheeps head?

It certainly does look very relaxing to view instead of worrying about alk values and such, you might be on to something here.

Hahahaha!!!! It will be a nice break, since the 3 freshwater tanks were pretty much maintenance free, other than a water change here or there. The fish you are referring to is a Frontosa. I have had all of these fish since they were about the size of a penny. I haven't seen a whole lot of freshwater tanks under halides, but I must say, It looks really cool with the shimmer, and the touch of blue from the 12k (Very crisp). I used all of their old deco, and substrate without rinsing, so hopefully there wont be much of a cycle. I did 90% water changes on them once a month, and never had an issue. Almost like overkill, with the equipment though....still running the fuge, might try some plants down there later. Reactors are nice for carbon, Ammo/carb, etc.

looks awesome Robman! Those are cichlids right? don't they also reproduce pretty readily in the aquarium? I always loved the looks of those orange ones....very cool! With the halide, I would think you could try some live plants too, no?

Thanks, I have a mix of Plecos, Cichlids, Gauramis, and yes the big orange are called Parrots. I also have a large Frontosa. BTW, yes Cichlids do reproduce. I have 2 small blue babies in there right now. :) I might try planted down the road....lots to learn about Light, C02, Substrate, etc. Kind of like when I started in Saltwater. Whole new world.
