I like the idea of the Genesis and you gave me something to add to my fathers day, birthday and christmas list.

thanks for the great information and ideas.

Dry run with nothing glued or sized properly went good. With 1 inch pvc on the bottom there wasn't a lot of force so I decided to reduce the "t" at the bottom of the bin from 1 inch to 1/2 inch. This gave a little more force. I tried drilling some holes along the bottom pvc to see if I could get a little flow to hit any salt that might accumulate in the middle of the bin. The holes didn't seem to make a difference, whether they were a few small ones or a few larger holes I couldn't feel any difference. However, I'm thinking I might add a 1/2 inch "T" on both arms and let some water hit the center that way.

Do you have a build thread for this Todd?

What if you cap the ends and only use smaller holes along the pvc, This should give you some pressure instead of dumping it all out the end with little pressure?

I like the sound of that - or you could do a 90 at the end on on, make a run up then let it u back into the bucket to get some down splash.

Those were my thoughts as well md. I stopped by after the hosp. visit and picked some caps up on my way. I figured give it a try and see how it comes out. Won't hurt.

Mike, yours is setup as a splash down already. Do you have any undissolved salt? Do you think I should / could abort my idea of turning the water to better mix the salt or should I keep pressing onward?
When you talk about "U" are you thinking maybe 6 inches up and then turn it back down to force the water over the base?

If it is like it is in the picture, couldn't you just leave the down pipe in the center just as it is and have it circulate along the bottom? The salt would accumulate there anyway so it should keep that circulated i would think.

No I dont get any issues with that - I leave it on an hour or two before a WC with the heater in - it churns the water - adds O2 and discolves the salt. Ideally you want to keep it as simple as you can. Take a look at my pics. I have a 3 way 90 coming out of my RO - one goes up and elbows over with a valve so if I need RO water I just turn a valve and it gravity feeds. the other side of the 90 goes to a valve to a T the one side of the t has a valve to the bottom of the salt. The other side of the t goes to the pump. the pump exit goes up - half way I have a T with a valve - the valve closed makes it go to the top of the salt container and just flushes the water and salt and mixes it well. Then when I open the valve - that runs into the sump.

The only difference I see with just a down spout and the way it is in the above picture is that the downspout would have only one exit and with the above picture it would give me two and perhaps cover a little broader area.?.?

it would reduce the pressure roughly by half and i am not sure on bends with it turning downward but if they come upward will add head pressure, so loss of pressure there too.
