    .......here.

Btw, if you want to know the principle behind those units, check this out. The Pinpoint Salinity meter measures in Siemens, from the linked article.

I'm not sure, but I do have the chemical to remove the chlorine from the water.

yes the live rock was fully cured

the filter was: AquaClear 50 / 200 Aqua Clear Fish Aquarium Filter - eBay (item 120506820672 end time Jun-13-10 08:21:33 PDT)

the woman said to get an air pump (it was like $16)

i believe the salinity was 1.020

the tank is a 46 gallon, the coral im getting is: Branching Frog Spawn and White Sebae Anemone

Ah, ok. Just figured I'd explain that I'm using the proper technical term for it, rather than "salinity monitor".

Corals, and especially anemones, are very sensitive to changes in water parameters. When your tank cycles, the chemicals will kill off the coral and anemone, guaranteed. The anemone or coral dying will end up polluting the tank to the point where any fish you got will also die.

Please read the articles in the link I posted those will go into more detail but...

You need to have your tank cycled before you can put anything in your tank. This normally takes about 30 days. Since you are just starting out I cannot recommend an anemone. these are very hard creatures to care for even if you have a lot of experience under your belt. Please do a lot of research on the creatures you have already purchased and plan to purchase.

Pet stores do sell an "instant cycle" product, but these do not work long term. All they do is delay the cycle. Once you stop using them you tank will cycle and probably crash. Crash meaning that everything will likely die.

Your tank is not ready for inverts or fish. FYI, an anemone is not a coral.

the coral you should be fine.. the anemone needs to go back though ( unless you want it to die and kill everything else because when they die they release toxins into the water.)

the reason for this is because they need a really well established tank.. a year or older to be able to sustain an anemone. Even then, some aquarists have trouble keeping them alive... some even decide to just skip it all toguether because its needs are very high..
