I have been preparing to start a saltwater tank again for the last 6 months and the information exchange here has been great reading. Things have changed in the last 15 years and I find that now I know next to nothing about how to be successful at saltwater so here I am to sponge some knowledge.

    Hello from Louisville Kentucky.

Welcome to 3reef! Enjoy and soak up all the knowledge fellow reefers have to share! Do you plan on setting up a reef tank with corals and inverts, or stay with fowlr? Good luck!

The initial plan was to go FOWLR and of course I have changed my mind about the fishes more times than a Republican during campaign season. The last final selection of livestock is listed below and maybe you guys can critique it for me.

    35 lbs of Kaelini
    20 lbs of Aragonite
    Pair Ocellaris Anemonefish (Amphiprion ocellaris)
    1 Midas Blenny (Ecsenius midas)
    1 Black Cap Basslet(Gramma melacara)
    1 Sixline Wrasse(Pseudocheilinus hexataenia)
1 Powder Blue Surgeonfish (Acanthurus leucosternon)
2 Red Skunk Cleaner Shrimp(Lysmata amboinensis)

    After Lighting Upgrade:
    1 Giant Carpet(Stichodactyla gigantea) Purple
3 Maxima Clams(Tridacna maxima) Gold, Blue, Green
    1 Green Brain Coral(Trachyphyllia geoffroyi)
4 Fiji Polyps(Zoanthus sp.) Red, Green, Orange, Pink

a little too fast there powder tang ya you need to reef and work on maintaining you tank once you can keep it constant then try for it but you need alot of experience before i would recommend anenomes or powder tangs uses hardy fish for your first fish but good luck. BTW dont used anything pacific coast unless its a skimmer maybe and use mag pumps maybe more sand too depending on tank size
