You can use reef safe epoxy (can be tidius), drill and rod (inexpensive, safe and artistic) or even aquarium safe foam works great I've heard (inexpensive, fast, easy and all gaps get filled). Personnally I used the drill and rod method. You don't have to worry about cave in's after everything is set up. I just got some cheap plastic coat hangers from $ store cut them up into 3" pieces and drilled my rock with a 3/8" masonary bit. Hope this helps.;)

my 65 gal build :) update!!!!

picked up 10 lbs of live rock so i have a little less than 110 lbs. so that is more than enough also i went to lfs and he said the worst thing i could have done was the base rock well all i wanted to do was give him :finger: so i then asked why. like any one should do in this hobby and he said it would alter my ph. well i am the kind of guy that will "fight" nicely i guess u could say. well i went on and told him that it was from a verry trusted sight and what not. he still says i screwed up. i then said what is the diffrence than when those companys in florda go dump "lace rock" in the ocean and call it live. and he says that it dose not mater becaus of the algae and stuff that grows on it. well i still dont understand!! do you know what he is talking about?? did i screw up????
also pics coming when i get my cell back

I'm a little confused, are you talking about the base rock affecting your ph? Because if he said it does...he's not very knowledgeable ...there is nooo affect with base rock

The guy is just trying to scare you and make $$$ off of you by making you buy more live rock from him. Base rock is just fine. I used 97% base and 3% live rock when I got my 55 up and running. No ill effects in my tank either :)
