got this fish today, sleeper banded goby...I have looked into them for some time and finally picked one up to take care of the massive amount of brown diatome algae on my sand, hes also cleaning the rocks a bit...started easting 5 minutes after be released into the tank...and hasnt stopped for a couple hours...anyone with sand maintanence issues should def. consider one. eventually I am gonna get some nassarious snails also for total sand cleaning

Yup. I have a goby too, and it keeps my sand pretty clean. I don't have to worry about the sand much thanks to it.

Does it spit sand out everywhere and make a mess like the yellow headed goby?

I havent fed it anything yet as theres plenty to eat in the tank and he's sure getting his fill...this one it around 3 inches right now...he eats the same way as a yellow headed sleeper goby so I guess he makes the same mess, stays close to the bottom while sifting sand though so he doesnt make to much of a mess...I had a small yellow head in my nano a while back but he must have gotten spooked and ran into something cause the hermit was eating him in the morning and he had been fine the night before...Im slightly worried about this guy jumping but he doesnt seem to skiddish yet...oh hes eating in that last pic, you can see the stuff flying out of his gills...

yeah, dragon goby, i have 2 of them, one in the 58g and the 24g, they make huge messes, the one in my 24g killed my bubble coral via burying it daily great fish though they do a really good job, just make sure your rock is stable they will burrow underneath it

thanks for the tips. I'll see if he will except some frozen brine tonight...hasnt made a sand mess yet, seems to stay over the sand while sifting, the rocks are pretty stable cause the sand isnt very deep and the rocks are pushed down into it a bit...he's not at all shy like my blenny which is cool, I can get right up to the tank without spooking him
