I just added LIVE SAND to my refugium.
I let it settle for about a day. The water was pretty clear. Then I turned on my pump to get the water moving from the sump up to the DT and back and so on. It created a HUGE cloud in the DT and the sump. The sand I put in the refugium is a really fine LIVE Aragonite.
Am I wrong, or not...I SHOULD NOT have rinsed it right? Isn't that the point of having live sand? It's good to go in your sump or aquarium without rinsing right? You would only kill the bacteria by rinsing.
Let me know if I'm wrong here.
ALSO, how long should it take to get rid of that cloud?
I have ONE yellow tail Damsel in the tank. Is he in danger?

    Thanks for you help!

Your fish will be fine in the sand cloud and it should settle down in a day or two.

No worries! And yes, you don't rinse live sand.
