    My tank (90 gal.) is approximately 9 months old. I used CoralSea, Fiji pink aragonite sand for my substrate. Recently, my sand bed looks like cat litter. Its clumping. What causes this? Any remedies? My parameters are;
    SG 1.025,
    PH - 8.4
    Alk - 8 dkh
    Ca. - 420
    Mg - 1460
    Po4 - 0.00
    No3 - 0.7
    Thank you.

    High flow across the sand and bacterial colonies in the sand. You need to get some sand stirring creatures in there like Cerith and Nassarius snails.

    Rob at Southwest Reef here in Burque has decent prices on ceriths and nassarius snails right now, not as good as reef cleaners, but you don't have to pay for shipping.

    Thanks everyone. I bought a custom cuc from ReefCleaners not that long ago, but have noticed my cuc diminishing. I think the hermit crabs were the culprits and I don't think I had enough algae to support this custom cuc at the time I purchased them (tank kind of new). So, french5, I will visit Rob at SouthWest Reef this weekend. And Peridhill, any suggestions on the Gobys? I hear Diamond Gobys are great to have in your tank. Would you suggest 1 or a pair? Thanks again everyone.

    I think one would be the max on the goby unless you have a very large amount of pods in your tank.

    Thanks 2in10. I have a bunch of pods in my sump but most don't seem to make it to my D/T. I do see the real tiny pods on my glass though. I think I will go with the 1 Goby. Thanks again everyone.
