I plan on using my sump for a fuge. which is already setup, just dont have anything in it.
Can I grab some wet sand from the beach to put in it? Will that do the job?

I would advise against it due to any pollutants that may be in the sand.

I would generally advise against doing this, just as 20 in 10 said, though it has been done before, specifically by a 3reef user.

I wouldn't. You don't know what's in the sand, whether that's pollutants, harmful inverts or unwanted bacteria.
