Sand Monster .. lol

    Finally got a half decent pic when it's out at night..

    here is the day shot just sorta see it divet in the CC..

    And here is what I was able to do with an LED flashlight in one hand and camera in the other.

    Spotted it awhile ago with flashlight after hours and have been trying to get a shot of it since

    Any ideas?

    Very interesting. I would guess a type of worm, although that looks somewhat like an anemone. Some weird hybrid anemone worm new to science? You could be famous! Good luck on the ID though.

    I see them at the beach on the island of sanibel alot...if you stick your foot in it they close ....they swarmed during low tide

    Hmm.. All I know is when lights are on it looks like the first image hidden.. when the lights go out it looks like the second image with the spikes sticking up and a visable center to it vs. the sand divet in the first image..

    Size wise the dark center is maybe 3/4" across at most.

    some type of small fanworm?
    aggregate anemone maybe?
