My Goby is constantly dropping sand on my Green Brain and Fungia. For the most part it just blows off. I think Some covers one of the about 14 mouths the brain has. Will it hurt the brain? This has been going on for a few weeks and I haven't really noticed any ill effects.

It definitely stresses them out and should try to be avoided. Try raising the coral up some more.

I'd think it could encounter worse stress in the ocean. Maybe move it higher up, but otherwise, these things are tougher than they look.

sand dropping definately annoys my fungia but it does seem to shake it off. if the goby loves to bury it like some do, then you got problems. but some sprinkle is okay.IMO

This takes away from energy that would be used to grow, instead they are using all energy to survive.
