sand on top of diatoms

    I cycled my refuge only with a bb and now i think i now want to add sand but have diatoms, can the dry sand be added on top of diatoms or wait till it die's off. I need to get a cuc in there sometime soon.

    youll get diatoma either way so I would do it btw, is the tank newly cycled cycling?
