sand question

    im saling my 150 gallon fish tank this weekend taking it down,it has two built in overflows inside the tank,has anyone got any clues how is the best way to drain the tank and how to get the sand out so we can move it any ideas,need some good advice,thanks,and have 120 pds of live sand in it,please help

    Best way to drain would be to siphon out the water. If you have a drain in your house that is below the tank, you might be able to run a very long hose to it. You can also place a pump inside the tank to pump the water out.

    As for the sand, after the water is out, it's time to scoop it in to garbage bags! Fun fun...

    Wet/dry vacuums work well....you have to empty them often. The nice thing is that most models have wheels on them (they are heavy when filled with sand and water)

    And that sand will smell just beautiful....

    Don't know of a better way than scooping...
