I'm wondering, I have been buying SAND alot lately and it's starting to cost ALOT of money... So the wife and I were thinking that we could go ahead and just make our own "live sand" .. Yes, we realize it will take some time but that's the beauty of it. ;)

With that known, I called up a few places (homedepot/lowes) and the two types of sand they carry are "sand box sand" which is supposed to be 100% clean and natural... Then they carry "potting sand" which has things like miracle grow in it.

Now, which type should I use? Or should I avoid these two ? Personally, the wife and I are wanting to get a fine white sand and some fine black sand so we can play with our base design some.

    Thoughts/suggestions?

thnkx guys/gals, there is always alot of help here and that's why we are proud to be members here!

D= none of the above. NEVER use sand made for HD or Lowes or any other store like that. If you must save on sand, I would dare to say that you can get sand from the beach, if you have a beach near you. Luna
