I read that the SSS stays in the sand & eats detritus, mussels, etc. Also that they don't have suckers. Here is the thing. Had it for a few weeks & today is climbing up the aquarium. What is happening?????

There's not enough food for it in your sandbed so it's looking for food anywhere it can. (Yes, they can climb glass but it's not going to find food there either. It sounds to me like you need to give it back to your LFS before it starves and pollutes your tank).

I agree, I had two of those in my other tank and never had a problem with them. How old is your tank?

can't take him back. Got him on a road trip. I've been putting food in front of his path like brine, smaller seastars, even turkey & even placing it on top of these. I am hoping its not a hunger thing.

Do you have any friends with big tanks or any local stores at all?

it is a hunger thing unfortunately. they really need an established tank. if you can, return it to a closer LFS and get store credit.
