I recently purchased a sss from the LFS and now i've read several bad reports that it will deteriorate my dsb. I have approx. 4" of live sand and 45lbs of live rock in a 75g tank that has been running for close to a year now. Running a sump/skimmer and 2x150 watt mhl/2x130 actinic lighting. Tank inhabitants include a blue damsel, 2 green chromis, 2 yellow damsels, 15 assorted hermits, 3 turbo snails, and 2 tiger tail cukes. Should i return the sss before it harms the dsb any further or worse it begins starving, or is this just false information?

Hey, there is an article posted in the thread called "Your Marine Aquarium Clean up Crew" that's really good and full of information that was really helpful to me. You should invest a few minutes of your time in reading the article and hopefully it will help!

I wouldn't recommend one for a DSB as the starfish will eat your sand fauna which the DSB relies on.

Only good thing a Sand Sifter star is for, is "Harlequin Food"...

I wouldn't go with the sifting star as you want the beneficial living organisns in your substrate. Some types of gobies also provide a negative state for your benthic area of the tank.
We purchase live sand and rock for the beneficial properties associated with it and to add sifting stars and certain gobies that eat these beneficial organisms is going against what we are trying to create!
Try adding a sea cucumber instead!

    Jimmy Buffett!
He is still very popular and has been writing, singing, performing and writing books since the 70's! He is even more popular now tahn in the past in my opinion!
Songs like "cheeseburger in paradise", "fins", "come monday", "it's five 0'clock somewhere" and "margaritaville" are just a few of his more popular songs from a list of over 30 albums...
Try listening to him if you haven't heard of him! Trust me you will enjoy his music with a splash of creole, caribbean, french and country...8)

I only wish "new" "Kool" musicians, well that gives them too much credit, like Eminem, who basically rants on about his ex-wife, could make something that generations later will understand and get a good message out of it. new music isnt music its really just repitition of beats and slang and some profanity.
