I've had my yellow head sleeper goby for months and never had an issue but lately he's making a real mess of the tank. Sand is everywhere. Its looks a little cool but I'm worried about my corals and clams having sand all over them. It seems some of my corals are producing excess slime. I'm always dusting them off and I'm about ready to find my goby a new home. He does keep my sand very clean though. Is this dangerous to my corals?

probably, I have the same thing going on, so far my clams and corals are fine. I'd worry more about sps than LPS. So far I haven't had any deaths;) knock on wood. Personally I like the help changing the tank around. But, I don't have alot of high end corals where he dumps, and my clams haven't seemed to mind too much...YET.

I know Vinny, you did, but I like the buggers, the stuff they bother don't seem to care at all, While I do have to dig out a coral every now and then, I like the fish enough to deal with it;)

My clams just shoot the sand off them but I'm worried about my lps. I guess he's gotta go.

My BSJ dumps sand on my corals and rock anemone all the time. Although I am sure they don't look forward to it, none have seemed to have suffered. List includes Duncans, Acans, Candy Cane, Cyphastrea, Green Slimer Acro, and 2 montis. Same thing in my other tank with my Tiger Wardi Goby. Gets sand on my Fungia, Favia and Trachyphyllia all the time as well. The only coral that has even been bothered was my Frogspawn. Got knocked into the sandbed and was gone within a week :( Euphyllias are one I would avoid contact with sand.

Thanks marshall. I really do like him and he does a great job on the sand bed. Ill just keep an eye on things and see how it goes. I would rather keep him. When I bought him he was pretty skinny and now he's doubled in size since I dose the sand copepods.
