sand storm!!!

    Someone please help. I have a 150 gal tank with two overflows
    and 160lbs of fine sand. I have a sand storm in my tank all the time. What can I do ?

    is it the power heads that are blowing the sand or input from a sump, if so try to aim it away from the sand :)

    How old is the tank
    Sand will take some time to settle and will blow around for a while

    If there is a ton of flow pointed down that will cause it as well

    good luck been fighting his for a while my only fix was to let the flow blow the sand were it wanted it then putting liverock where the highest flow problems were it is very furstrating

    could split the outlet from the main pump in the tank to lower the pressure coming out and readjust the direction of flow.

    Or just enlarge the outlet fittings to lower the pressure like if you have a 1/2 or 3/4 outlet then jump up to a 1 in or 1.1/4 inch fitting and I like to point mine a little on a up wards angle to move the water around on the surface and it creates a better up wards welling from the bottom
