Hey, Im relatively new to salt water tanks and my tank has been running for about 6 months. I have spots of sand in my tank that has turned into rock ( best way i can describe it) It is dark in color and very hard. Anybody know what i can do to fix this problem? Sand sifting gobys? add a power head to the bottom of my tank? by the way i have a 37 column. with two 500 gal/hr powerheads.

I think this is often caused by high alkalinity. What is the pH/alk of your tank?

Yeah are you dosing 2 part? Typically from alk overdose with 2 part your sand will turn to a brittle rock like material.
