I'm still setting up my 75g. Last weekend I added 60lbs of sand, plus 40lbs of live sand. Yesterday I added 75lbs of live rock (fully cured, from an established tank).

So now what? People keep telling me that live sand and cured live rock produces an "instant cycle" - how do I know when I'm ready for creatures?

With fully cured live rock, your cycle will most likely be small and quick, but not necessarily. Test your water daily and watch for first a rise in ammonia, then a rise in nitrite, and then a rise in nitrate. Once all three values are back down to 0, you can add a fish.

I agree with the guy before ^ let it cycle for two if not three weeks. take it slow and be patient with it. Once ammonia, nitrate, and nitrite are at/near 0, you can add one or two fish. if your going reef, one or two coral. What is you sump setup like?
