I purchased a sargassum frogfish from my LFS two weeks ago. he has eaten fine up until today. we noticed he was breathing hard and didnt eat when we put guppies in there with him. he also is tilted when he is just sitting there. if anyone has any answers to what might be wrong with him I want to know. thanks in advance.

only thing i can think of off hand is he/she has a full belly... hold off feeding for a day or more till it seems to be more active or looking normal....

Other point of concern is what was your LFS feeding the fish.?
If i remember right feeding fresh water fish to a salt water preditor is not good cause of certain bactieria in the fresh water fish's stomach. And will make the preditor fish not do so well...

I know there's a few FOWLER Preditor fish people on here i hope will chime in and pick up where i left off...

    BEst of luck....

First you're over feeding him. I feed mine about 3-4 times a week not every day. Remember predator fish are opportunistic. They will try to eat whenever you put food in front of them. Even if the don’t need to be fed. Also you need to be feeding marine food. Not only do fresh water fish carry bacteria that are harmful to your frog but also they do not contain sufficient nutrients that they require. Depending on the size start with live brine shrimp and the try some silversides. Just give the silversides a little wiggle in front of his face and he should take it!

    Good luck
