Thanks. The flame Angel does pick at some of my corals. Luckily he spreads the wealth and doesn't seem to focus on any of them enough to cause serious damage. The only exception might be a monti that I have. he seems to pick at it the most and there does appear to be fewer polyps these days. However, in fairness, the monti has grown into some zoas and a kenya tree so the blame could fall there as well.

Thanks for the kind words. Yes, i have a love/hate relationship with the GSP. i love the look of it and hate the way it grows over any coral in its path.

I love the GSP also! I am going to be starting my tank back up (been torn down for about 9 months anticipating a move/tank crashed/rookie mistakes at the time) and was wondering if a GSP would be a good starter coral? I was researching them and saw that they are supposed to be pretty hardy. My setup will be a 120gal. with a 90gal. sump/fuge. 2x150W MH bulbs and 2xdual 420/460 actinic bulbs.

It is very hardy. My suggestion would be to set up a separate island where the GSP will be easy to contain.

Thanks for the tip, so in your experience the hardest part is keeping them "contained"?

Definitely. some will list them as non-agressive but i wouldn't put them in that category. mine have killed other corals in my tank both by growing over them and chemical warfare. if you put them on an island by themselves, they will branch out from the rock but it is easy to just cut off those branches. My LFS will buy them off of me as long as i don't do it too often.
