Hey, all you SC150 (or 65) owners.

I just tried an easy mod to make your SC a bit more adjustable (should have come this way from the factory).

I bought some Maxijet power heads to increase my intank flow. (Wow, with the fan attachment- those things rock!)
It comes with a small air intake gadget to adjust the air flow thru the intake-if you used it- I'm not, no real app for a SW fish tank and air bubbles in the DT.
It's a small, simple little plastic thing that works great.

Now I can lower the air intake just a bit, which in turn raises the water column in the skimmer body a bit, which enables me to run it on a higher #- hence more total flow thru the skimmer itself- more water being skimmed.

The first day yielded good results- still get great skim, and more total water being skimmed.

I"ll try and post picks soon of the device, etc.

So, I got mine in the mail today!! Pretty stoked my tank isn't set up yet still need to build a stand and sump. This is my first skimmer while doing saltwater. I'm gonna need a little info on setting it up. I know not many pieces and pretty straight forward but as I am sure with yours there are no directions, Any pointers would be great.

i have the sc150 with the pump on the inside of the cone. how deep from the bottom of the skimmer should the water be? I figured approximately 9" from the bottom but do not have it set up yet. What are you all running your water line at? Thanks

Here was the most troublesome thing to figure out. As far as the rest just set the power head either directly on the sump floor or on something to raise your skimmer. After that just place the skimmer on the top of the power head and place the collection cup on top. There are holes on the body of skimmer so you can put the tube coming from the blue part that is in the pic.
