My sc150, with the atman 2500 under the skimmer body still works well and pulls some nasty stuff every day.

I actually put one of the air intake adjusters on the line and have it taking some of the air out of it. ONly some however b/c it still has a full cone of bubbles, but this allows me to run it at a sllightly higher # on the blue flow adjuster, thus flowing a bit more thru the skimmer each pass.

Works for me. Great skimmer for the $.

I have the 302 model and it works great. I have mine in about 6 inches of water, No micro bubbles, some people have had this issue... I put mine in the sump right out the gate No vinegar bath and with in 24 hours there was dark nasty gunk.it still is skimming like crazy, has slower down and is getting real thick. All purchasers enjoy it is worth the money

I too put mine right in the sump as soon as it was assembled and its looking good so far skimming like crazy! It's also very quiet!

The only advice I can give to anyone that is going to buy this skimmer is DO NOT over tighten the adapter by the pump inlet. I did and now there is a hair line crack (although doesn't seem to be affecting the performance).

I ordered the 65 Gal Skimmer a couple weeks ago and got it all set up yesterday on my 46 gal bow front. It fits perfectly in the first (inlet) chamber of my 10 gal sump. Everything went together perfectly. It's been running in 8.5" of water and has pulled some light green skimmate over the last 24 hours. My only complaint is that there are absolutely no instructions. Just the skimmer and packing in the box. In fact, in reviewing pictures and videos of other skimmers, I see I have my pump in backwards :p

    Here are some pictures:

QUESTION: for those of you with the 65 gal skimmer, what water depth do you run yours at? To get smaller bubbles in the neck should I raise or lower the skimmer?

Also, I've seen on another thread that someone dremmeled the pipe fitting on the pump outlet to make it flush with the botton of the bubble chamber. Anyone done this? The pump came with an extra fitting, so I may just give it a try- seeing as I have to take it out anyway to turn the pump around!

Dumb question with this skimmer. I got the sc-300 today. It came with the 2500 pump. Do the pvc pipes just slide in? Also does the pump just slide into the bottom hole and you rest the body of the skimmer onto the pump? Seems like it should have a tighter fit?

I set up my skimmer on saturday, and it is now tuesday. I set it on some pvc piping and is in the sump near 9". However I have crazy amounts of micro bubbles. Am I expecting to let it break in? Also I have not gotten any skim mate yet. I have the bubbles at the bottom of the collection cup. Any suggestions?
