Ok, thanks. I tried opening the air intake a bit, but may have to a bit more. I think it's on 3 1/4. I still don't think my skimmer is fully broke in yet, or my bio-load is smaller. I have a refugium & algae turf scrubber going. Thanks

How do you know what setting your SC is at? Also, do you guys get a gurgling sound coming up from the blue tube?

There's a little indention in the blue tube near the number settings. Maybe you have it installed incorrectly?

My skimmer is up and running. Here are a couple of pics. Only took 2 days to get the cup filling up with skimate. Everything seems to be running fine but the pump is making a lot of noise. Any suggestions to quieten the pump? It is in 9 inches of water and the dial is set on 4.

How high are you guys/gals running the bubbles in the collection tube?

I'm running mine to where the seal for the plastic cup meets the cone.

I'm running mine the bubble tip is about the bottom of the cup also, but I get can't get mine past #3, otherwise the water column drops to far down.

What is the water depth in your sump?

It's at 8". I measured down from the top of the beginning of the bubble trap, and cut some extra 4" PVC piping to place underneath it to fill the space. I Cleaned the cup for the first time after 3 weeks and it was brown nastiness, but the skim was light brown tea color. Now 2 days after cleaning its clean white bubbles. I'm attempting different adjustments with the air/water ratio restrictions as well as the blue dial. Hmm
