My SC150, which I receive before you, has no small legs, rather plates, and the Atman2500 sits underneath the skimmer body. I know they made it both ways as I thought the inskimmer body pump model was older- yet some say for various reasons that they like your model better, and it may even work better, I dunno.

Mine is working fine, I'm reall happy, and smile every time I think about what I paid for this brand new!!

Nice, i like the overflow mod! I bought 2 small clumps and they have doubled in size. I'm hoping it grows a little bigger. Here's my ATS being gravity fed into the sump as well. I'm all about the DIY in this hobby! I should prob buy some more cheato!

    Oh Right Felix,

I forgot about your ATS, AND protein skimmer. Nice job on your set up!!

I started with a very small clump of chaeto, and it was growing well.
Then, someones post on their chaeto inspired me and I over doubled the wats on my chaeto basket, and added another reflector like you are using.

So I now have 2 of those funnel looking reflecrtors, each with a 100W CFL bulb in it. Uses less than half the W really, bing a CFL.

I'm looking to replace my bakpak skimmer from 6-7 years ago (restarted a new tank) and where did you get it for $95? I'm just curious as to where people are buying it from, I only see it on the site and ebay, does anyone see it on amazon?

Why would you make it last? From what I've read having the return pump section in the middles and having separate flow to the skimmer and refugium is better because you can adjust the amount of water passing through the refugium area (they do better with water moving at slower speeds). That's just what I've picked up from other designs and what people have said.

I have a refugium build'ish' thread right now. Feel free to give me your opinoin!

I know I too have researched the same thing. I do like that i have the control of slow water movement threw the refugium. I think my reasoning is to eliminate any micro bubbles getting into the Dt. But I don't have any MB now that the skimmer is broke in and my system now is the best it's been, so I don't have anything else to compare it to. I didnt even need the 'T' into my refugium now that the algae turf scrubber is feeding into the fuge.

mine came shipped with a whole leg off, you can see where the superglue was. also one of those tiny bracket pieces was broken from the other leg. for the skimmer cup, the acrylic circular piece is supposed to go inside also correct? that was wandering around my box.

So ....... my pump was making a great deal of noise and I could not get it to stop. I contacted the ebay seller 150 Gallon Fresh Saltwater Fish tank Protein Skimmer | eBay and he sent me a new impeller. Three days running now and no noise so the problem is solved. He even offered to send me a new pump if the impeller did not solve the problem. I had great customer service from this guy so if you are thinking about buying I would suggest this merchant. I don't see how you can beat this skimmer for $115.00. That is just my 2 cents :)

Ordered one. Should have it by Thursday of Friday. Then I can finish my refugium and get my tank up and running!
