Scammed by Ebay Seller Portnew?

That's just through paypal. They have partnered up with Ebay for this

eBay Buyer Protection

Ebay and paypal (through ebay purchases) guarantee reimbursement. They would have to say that the seller needs the money in their account for you to be paid if that were the case. It's pretty cut and dry really. It'd be hilarious if they could only refund if the seller had money. What kind of guarantee would that be?

 

Well here's an update. I believe the seller lied on shipping the item. After pestering him today, He sent me this tracking id.

USPS - Track & Confirm

He sat on it for a while (14 days), but did indeed ship from the USA. It was sitting on my doorstep when I got home today.

 

From reading the auction terms, it could be that they ship from a warehouse in the US, but might still need to order from HK first. I'm glad you got your item at least.

 

The policy is at least 2 years old.

 

eBay owns PAYPAL which is why I stopped using both. Charging me 3 times for the same auction is absurd and pretty sure illegal.

so I guess you learned something today.. if you really want something fast, go to the LFS or at least get it from a 3reef vendor

Ironically, that's where I went to purchase exactly what was on my step when came home. Aquatropics only stocked the single ended fixtures. I have a DE 14k system up and running. Only thing left it to build it in a canopy. It's currently supported by coffee cups right now
