So I have had this one scarlet crab for about 4 months. He used to be very active and semi aggressive toward the other hermits (little blue legs, and zebra) One day I find a couple of his legs, claws, and body exoskeleton on the sand. He didnt come out of his shell at all for like 4 days. Now he just sticks out with his claws out, doesnt appear to have any other legs. And hasnt moved in about 2 weeks from one spot. Any ideas?

    You molt?;D

Sometimes a molt will not go well. Sadly, that seems to be the most common cause of death for my hermits.

Hmm, that sucks. He used to be a jerk to the other crabs anyways I guess. Doesnt sound too promising then. I appreciate the responses.

Rough molts area drag, I remember seeing the exoskeletons of various crabs and shrimp and freaking out that I had lost something. Only to see it up and running around acting as it used to. That for me was a rough molt
